The YOUNITY Re-Fresh the Streets live street art collaboration is complete!!! I’m super tired. That wall took a lot out of me dammit! Working on a 15′ piece, going photo real was a bad move. What the hell was I thinking…I was wearing way too many hats this weekend;( From going, up and down the ladder, simutaneously working on the store front, talking to folks left & right, I’m surprised I didn’t just pass out on the sidewalk and screamed UNCLE!!! Bet no-one noticed. I think that’s why I’ve been tossing and turning all night this week, insomnia sucks. The perfectionist in me wouldn’t let me sleep. Anywayyyyy, had to vent. Super duper special shout out to our Younity Youth Jerely, and Talia who threw down with the can control. We are so proud;)Â our Younity Crew Shana, Diana, Mama, and Samia for helping freestyle that store front. Jazzy jazz baby! I couldn’t have done it without ya. Especially Abeni Garrett for hooking up the video piece for this project I can;t wait to see it!!! Gracias MAMASITAS! Looking fwd to the Friday Jazz Jam sessions to close out the summer, SOUTHSIDE style. Mad love goes out to OUR people, the few left in this community who got smart in the 70-80′s and bought their property! This hood back then was one of NYC’s worst. MMMMMMMMMM…last night was sweet! Almost didn’t make it. Ever since that Bahamas cruise a few years back I promised myself I would never step a foot in a boat again, but my attitude lately has just been like f it! Gotta live and be merry with the fam, life’s too short. We took sail from Pier 17 at the South Street Seaport around 10ish. For 2 hours we floated up and down the Hudson River over looking our beloved rotten apple. What can I say it was D – O – P- E!!! and I didn’t get sick woohoo! Last minute plans called for a quick dive into the woods. Drove out the rotten apple for a day and a half to get away from the summer craze, and take a much needed break. AM made us all laugh cuz she got the huge ass park ave tent! that shit was BIG & DOPE! Had some silly laughs the whole ride upstate. Ahhhhh the TREES, TREES, and more TREES. Cruising upstate is just a GREEN & NATURAL Landscape affair. Exactly what the doctor ordered. Helped us take a breather especially as we get closer to the show in the fall which is officially a NON-STOP process until the end of November. We’re a little sad we don’t have a space locked down yet, but we’re griiiiiiiding day by day and the perfect space is sure to pop up soon!
Our first night. We built the tent in the rain. TEAM WORK ROCKS! 30 min baby! Then we all jammed in for the smores , muchies sessionz, and a 90′s TOOFLY playlist that helped bring you back to 93′ till infinity, and get you some electric relaxation, for you to have a good day with Ice Cube so you can go keep your head up with pac, before my PM DAWN creeps up on you. My favorite! Have fun twittering it;) MORE FLICKS BELOW>>>

WOW lot’s to catch up on. NYC is just crazy in the summer lot’s of stuff going on….okay so we’ll set it off with my kids mural workshop that went down this past week…
BIG CITY WALLS – Younity + Toofly Street Art Mural Project with The Women’s Leadership school was a huge success! The workshop kicked off at our favorite summer spot THE SECRET GARDEN in Bushwick. Weather was loving us! For the past 3 days a group of 30+ young women got a chance to experience the stages of producing a collaborative aerosol mural project with a NATURE theme reflective of what we created at the Secret Garden. It was one of my first official street art mural projects with a large youth group and it went smooooooooth as pie. WHEW! I can def get the hang of this every summer, kids rock!!!
Day 1 – Introduction, Project Details, Concept, Sketches, and a walk through the Secret Garden for some inspiration. SEE THE REST OF THE PHOTOS BELOW >>>

The Secret Garden. A YOUNITY + BIG CITY WALLS collaboration with female aerosol artists from NYC. Coming together to “RE-FRESH” the streets…

Rocking productions with 10+ artists is not always easy. Having a sketch helps. Not everything can go according to plan, but if you leave enough room to improvise you get pretty close…
THE SECRET GARDEN. J train to Gates ave. Corner of Linden and Broadway, Bushwick Brooklyn.
Great spot to chill, paint, play dominos, BBQ, and grow your own vegetables & fruits! There’s a farmers market every Wednesday if you want to check it out. Shout out to the folks who run this place and JOSEPH for keeping it beautiful for the community.
Big hug to Erotica for hooking us up with the ill grill meals! & for bringing by the whole fam. What else can be more fun than running around, playing hide and go seek, dancing, laughing, jumping, and climbing stuff? WHAT FUN! they will remember for a long long time.
Day 1. Pieces were sketched in and set. On the hunt of colors necessary for Day-2 & 3 possibly 4..GREEN, GREEN, AND MORE GREEN!!!
THE COLOR GREEN. The color of nature, fertility, life. Grass green is the most restful color. Green symbolizes self-respect and well being. Green is the color of balance. It also means learning, growth and harmony.
GREEN ENERGY contains the powerful energies of nature, growth, desire to expand or increase. Balance and a sense of order are found in the color green. Change and transformation is necessary for growth, and so this ability to sustain changes is also a part of the energy of green.
In between the week I managed to squeeze in a Female Sneaker Fiend PHOTOSHOOT with Lori Lobenstein, and Amanda Lopez who flew in from San Francisco for the NYC June festivities. Now the IMAGES will live on FOREVER, and EVER, no matter what!
DAY 4.( I missed Day 2, and 3 ) I was crazed and unable to meet the team to help;( BUT I def made up for it on day 4.WHEW! I still feel I need another 2 days to be satisfied with it, that’s just my virgo talking. Still gonna go back and rock it some more, cuz I can go on for days…PLUS! Shiro is in town gotta get her on this wall…
Collabo between Lady K Fever and Toofly. Feeling RE-FRESHED yet? Flow like water and you’ll see what I mean.
Water unceasingly changes shapes and transforms itself. It is thus a model out of which everything can be born. It is also a source of purification. Purification for the individual beings but also for the whole of mankind. The Flood is a founding episode in numerous civilisations. Among Australia’s Aborigenes, a giant frog is said to have swallowed the Earth’s water to release it only when the other animals, dying with thirst, made it burst out laughing. The Flood in a re-creation of the world. One emerges from water in order to be reborn.
DIVA sweetest person ever!
MADGE def incorporated “THE SECRET” up in here! The key to our hearts “LOVE” and nothing else…
JES. Watch out for TOUGH LOVE NYC! Love these VENUS FLY TRAPS great color…
