SooOOoooooo EXCITED!!! The TOOFLY X UPPER PLAYGROUND Capsule Collection has finally been released. The t-shirts look great! I can’t wait to rock em’. Check out the close ups of the illustrations below. I was on some new zone when I created these pieces a year ago. Time did not exist. All I wanted to do was express a energy flow that was coming from some amazing place you can’t even see but just feel. Yeah…it’s some energy quantum physics shit. Consciousness and Pink Floyd are a great mix for an afternoon of art & design:) ENJOY!

M.I.S.S., an online women’s lifestyle magazine, has teamed up with Upper Playground to curate an art show at FIFTY24LA Gallery. “Paper Dolls” is a group show displaying new works by artists and their interpretation of the paper doll. Curated by M.I.S.S. editors Lexx Valdez and Kimberly Jefferson. Using the iconic paper doll as inspiration, each artist offers his or her own artistic interpretation of the woman’s fashion figure. From photographs, illustrations and paintings, there are varied expressions of the paper doll – all with the signature touches of each artist. working on some illustrations for a M.I.S.S CREW exhibition called PAPER DOLLS at Upper Playground in 2010. Still not sure if I’m gonna submit this piece tho. There’s so much you can do with paper dolls! hmmm….yea dunno…then again I only have a week left, and leaving town for the Holidays. This may just be it:( Maybe I can find a dope decorative frame in a thrift shop or something,…Anyway stay tuned. More details after the jump!

My new FREESTYLE Eco-Block rings are ready! Sorry it took me so long to get these up on the shop. Figured I better post them soon so ya’ll have something new and colorful to give that special sistah for the holidays. I was going to wait until spring 2010 to release them but I get too excited when they’re laying around my studio. Shout out to my sister Joanne for helping me paint them while listening to our favorite tunes. Handcrafted in Ecuador baby! Keeping it in the fam…

Toofly’s Freestyle Eco-Block ring designs are inspired by her favorite tunes, and graphic ethnic shapes found in her native land. Handcrafted in Ecuador, and hand painted with her younger sister Joanne Marie. These colorful rings are that funky dash of color your looking to rock on them five’s. The line is an addition to her TRINITY collection made up of 2 finger wood rings in collaboration with GOOD WOOD NYC. Staying true, and original to a community of artists and designers who make handmade goods, and eco-friendly works of art!

Yesterday’s Younity Art & Designer MARKIT was a sunny successs!!! From dope handmade goods, fresh artwork, designer T’s, to the valiadas and hot dogs on the grill by Father Tom and the parish crew. Our peeps came through and showed maaaaaaad LOVE! Dj Jedi, and Dj Disco Wiz killed it on the 1 & 2’s playing the best in Hip Hops classics and Freestyle. Bboyz, and BGirlz would of loved it. Ya def up in the mix next time without a doubt. Can’t wait!!! Got lot’s more stuff planned for Markit#2 The Lady of Sorrows parish is down for us, that’s why I love COMMUNITY. Real recognize real;) Bringing together fresh creative talent to our hoods one summer at a time. Look out for the HOLIDAY MARKET in the works for December. Thanks again everybody!!! * Especially Freddy & my Momz who came to town, & helped us make folding tables, paint rings, stuff little pillows, and pack the tiny smartcar w/ all our shit. Gotta LUV family, they’re down for you no matter what. Have a safe trip back to Florida!
